When you receive a tissue assessment, our dentists and team use the VELscope Vx device to check your mouth for any soft tissue abnormalities. These abnormalities may include:

VELscope technology can often detect developing conditions before they become visible to the eye and go unnoticed, highlighting any abnormal tissues in your mouth so that our dentists can more easily diagnose the problem and develop an appropriate treatment plan.

Our team is especially concerned with checking for oral cancer, as an increasing percentage of oral cancers are discovered in patients with no known risk factors. We recommend that patients over the age of 18 be screened for this or other conditions annually. If you have a significant risk factor, our dentists will assess your mouth during each of your routine appointments.
