Porcelain Veneers Woodstock GA

Porcelain Veneers Atlanta, Marietta, RoswellMask Imperfections with Dental Veneers

Porcelain veneers are an incredibly versatile cosmetic dentistry option that can address a variety of dental imperfections, including slight chips and cracks in the teeth, spacing issues, unevenness in size and shape, and discoloration. Veneers are placed over the teeth to mask flaws and create a uniform, beautiful smile. If you are interested in the placement of porcelain veneers, contact the Woodstock office of Drs. Ray H. H. Morgan, Jr., Dennis L. Radcliffe, and Adam J. Barefoot. Our team is happy to answer your questions and schedule you for a consultation.

The Veneer Placement Process

Our veneer patients consult privately with Dr. Morgan, or one of his associates, at Towne Lake Family Dentistry before treatment begins. Our dentists will examine your teeth, and you will explain your options to you so that you can meet your cosmetic goals and personal needs. There are several types of veneers, including minimal prep veneers, and different brands (such as LUMINEERS®, MACVENEERS™, da Vinci Porcelain Veneers™, DURAthins, Pearls, and Rembrandt®) that offer certain advantages. For example, some types of veneers do not require as much tooth reduction prior to placement as others.

After we have decided on a course of treatment, you will return for veneer preparation. We may remove a slight bit of tooth structure to make room for the veneers; then, we take impressions of your teeth, including their size, shape, and bite position, to aid in the custom fabrication of the veneers. Veneer fabrication typically takes a week or two; temporary restorations may be placed in the interim to protect your newly prepared teeth.

Once the permanent restorations are ready, you will return to our office to have them color-matched and placed. The veneers are slipped over the exterior surface of the teeth, and cemented into place with a strong dental adhesive. We will check for proper fit and bite alignment, ensuring that you are comfortable and pleased with your new veneers.

Benefits of Porcelain Veneers

Porcelain veneers are amazingly transformative. The appearance of worn, chipped, cracked, stained, or unevenly spaced teeth can be significantly improved, enhancing the smile and creating uniformity in the color, shape, and size of the teeth. The porcelain material mimics the natural translucence of enamel, and the veneers are custom-crafted to fit in with the surrounding teeth, making them difficult to detect and producing results that look natural.

The veneer placement process is fairly swift, depending on the specific brand of veneers you choose, and minimally invasive. With the proper care, veneers last a long time. Veneers will perk up any smile, giving patients the confidence they desire and deserve.

Risks of Porcelain Veneers

There is a risk of slight tooth sensitivity when the tooth is prepared for the veneer. Since some tooth structure is removed, the tooth can feel a little sensitive before the veneer is placed. Also, veneers may need to be replaced eventually, as they wear down or sustain damage. The placement process is irreversible; since a small amount of tooth enamel needs to be removed to make room for the veneer, the tooth will always need to be covered by a dental restoration.
