In addition to performing most general and cosmetic dentistry treatments, Towne Lake Family Dentistry also offers a full slate of other restorative and general dentistry treatments. The Towne Lake Family Dentistry team makes use of lasers, digital radiography, intra-oral cameras and advanced education to repair and replace teeth that have become damaged by decay, injury, or the passage of time. We offer the care and attention necessary to each patient to our office, and they travel to our practice from Woodstock, GA, Atlanta, Marietta, Alpharetta, and elsewhere for dentures and other restorative and general dentistry care.

Missing teeth can cause many problems beyond gaps in your smile. In addition to difficulties with speaking and eating normally, lost teeth can also lead surrounding teeth to shift and the facial muscles to sag, causing the contours of the face to appear sunken. While many people thinking about dentures tend to picture the clumsy, uncomfortable denture appliances of generations past, denture technology has changed over time and it allows us to craft highly attractive dentures that are both functional and completely natural-looking. If you have lost one or several teeth due to injury, disease, or decay, our Atlanta and Marietta-area restorative dentistry practice can design dentures customized to fit your smile needs and desires.

Depending on the number of teeth to be replaced and your current level of oral health, the Towne Lake Family Dentistry experts will recommend a set of aesthetic dentures designed to restore your chewing ability and provide the appearance of a gapless smile. We offer both full dentures for patients who have lost all or most of their teeth and partial dentures that replace one or a small number of missing teeth. Your new dentures will restore the look and functionality of your smile and also prevent surrounding teeth from shifting and properly support the facial muscles. Although denture appliances are often simply fitted over the gums, dentures can also be anchored to dental implants to provide stable long-term results.

Our goal is to fulfill your dentistry needs. For over 20 years we have been actively restoring smiles with the latest general and cosmetic dentistry treatments. Many times we are able to accommodate your needs including: Dentures, Dental Bridges, Tooth-colored Fillings, Endodontic Therapy, and Full Mouth Restorations. In few cases where referrals are necessary, be assured we only trust and refer the best specialists in their field. Call our office today.

Dental Bridges

Dental bridges offer us another option for replacing missing teeth, restoring mouth functionality, and creating beautiful smiles at Towne Lake Family Dentistry. Similar in construction to porcelain crowns, inlays, and onlays, dental bridges are crafted from porcelain and can sometimes contain a metal frame for reinforcement. A dental bridge generally consists of an artificial replacement tooth that is fastened to crowns placed over the teeth on either side of a gap where a tooth has gone missing. The result of dental bridge placement is a healthy, gap-free smile that is both fully functional and aesthetically pleasing.

Tooth-colored Fillings

Tooth-colored composite resin fillings are used to repair teeth that have been damaged by decay. This material is color-matched to blend invisibly with your natural tooth structure, providing a much more natural appearance than old-fashioned amalgam (silver) fillings. Additionally, at Towne Lake Family Dentistry we recommend tooth-colored composite fillings over silver amalgam fillings because the metal used in amalgam fillings can contract and expand at a different rate than the tooth it's placed in, which can lead to the tooth cracking or voids around the margins of the filling. This in turn can allow bacteria to infect the tooth. In contrast, tooth-colored composite resin fillings bond directly to natural tooth material to support and strengthen the tooth structure while serving as important parts of an appealing, natural-looking smile.

Endodontic Therapy

Endodontic (or root canal) therapy is often necessary in cases in which the pulp tissue within a tooth becomes infected due to the progression of tooth decay. Root canal therapy may also be recommended when a large filling or crown is replaced, cracks or fractures have developed in a tooth, or the tooth has experienced recent or past damage due to injury or facial trauma. In a typical endodontic treatment, the infected or damaged tooth material is removed and replaced with a tooth-colored filling or a dental crown to protect against further damage. In most cases we can perform endodontic treatment in the comfort of our office at Towne Lake Family Dentistry; however, on occasion we will refer particularly advanced cases to an endodontist who specializes in performing this type of therapy.

Full Mouth Restorations

Patients suffering from a number of dental issues often require more extensive correction than a single procedure is able to provide. Fortunately for people in this situation and thanks to the wide variety of cosmetic, restorative, general, and preventive dentistry services offered by Drs. Ray H. Morgan, Jr., Dennis L. Radcliffe and Steven L. Shepperd, the Towne Lake Family Dentistry team is able to create strikingly healthy and attractive results by combining treatments from different areas of dentistry to perform full mouth restorations. As in a cosmetic smile makeover, with full mouth restoration treatment we can restore a strong, healthy, attractive smile to any patient's face no matter his or her current state of dental health.
